Let’s build boundaries that actually protect your peace
Here's the difference between temporary relief and true rest
I spent most of my early adult years, boundary-less. Without much hesitation, I excitedly said “yes!” to every board position and volunteer opportunity offered to me—buying into the cultural lie that status and what people thought of me equalled importance.
My lack of personal space wasn’t really a big deal back then—I was young, kid-free, and fueled by an unhealthy and unrelenting need to prove myself. My needs? Nah, I’m fine…really.
Fast forward to my 40s, and I’m now carrying a consistent limp from too many burnout bruises to the point that I wince at a simple GroupMe message. But now, I’ve traded caffeine-fueled hustle for protein bars. Lack of sleep for a Hatch and eye gel patches. Outside expectations for boundaries.
On this week’s Better Life Podcast, I’m sharing all of my hard lessons learned in rest and boundaries with Morgan who gives incredible insight into what that looks like in her busy home.
If you are loving your life right now and still feel exhausted, this week’s Better Life Podcast convo is absolutely for you.
I chat with Morgan about:
what boundaries are working for us as working moms who are also grad-school students
the silent epidemic of burnout and numbing out
how to strive less and trust Jesus more in every day life
So, the pressure’s off. Rest isn’t one more thing to add to your crowded calendar—it’s a God-given rhythm you’re invited into.
Listen in, and plan your rest this week.
Locking arms with you,
Vanessa
